Oooh this time of year is tricky when it comes to photos - the light is so bad that it's hard for me to find bits of my home that I can style and take photos of to show you. But I can show you a few bits of my kitchen which has French doors and a sky light - but still struggles when the clouds loom over at midday. Which is why I need lots of candles in sparkly votives and lots more flowers to brighten the place up a bit.
We have a huge map on the wall of our kitchen over a radiator cabinet which I like to style to reflect the seasons. This month I'm in love with pine cones and foliage with berries and that dark old medicine bottle. The wall at the front of our house is covered in ivy and I always let it go wild at the end of the summer so I'll have plenty of berries to steal in the winter. They look great spray painted gold when I have time.
I'm quite stingy with flowers at this time of year - there's little left in the garden and I'm trying not to cut off every hydrangea head that I still have flowering - so I buy a bunch of flowers and split it between lots of jam jars filled with foliage and berries. Throw in a few candles and some pine cones and you have a simple table centre. (Even if the table is pushed right up against the French doors so I have enough light - just imagine that there's a chair at the end like there usually is!)
