Christmas Eve already - I can't quite believe it. The children are beside themselves and I've been awake since 4.45am thinking about all the things that I just haven't done yet! But waking up early has its benefits, it means I'm finally getting time to post my styling the seasons post. I like every room in the house to have a bit of festive sparkle. The tree of course if the main event and I love going to choose one. The boys were so excited about bringing it home and decorating it. I was expecting them to be hanging things hapazardly all over the place, but they were so creative and artistic about it, making sure that there was only one decoration per branch. I'm very proud that some off my... erm let's call it creativity shall we, is rubbing off.
I put these snowflakes and honeycomb balls up after the boys were asleep and when they came down for breakfast in the morning they were so excited.Tim was less impressed with the drawing pins I'd stuck in the ceiling - but he'll get over it I'm sure. Please excuse the cat in the far background - he would not get off the fence!
I'm in love with these little houses from Cox and Cox - how beautiful are they? I made the star garland by sewing together cardboard stars on my sewing machine. And candles of course - you can't have Christmas without candles.
I like t0 have a trial run of my festive table and this year I've gone very simple, just candles and greenery.
The boys were given a mini Christmas tree each when we went to see Father Christmas and I thought it would be nice to use them on our Christmas table. I had to trim the roots to get them in the pots so I hope they'll be ok!
I love putting bunches of herbs on my napkins - they make them smell so lovely. And a candy cane is the perfect treat for after lunch.
And of course I have to have flowers what ever the time of year.
I'm going to be taking a little break from blogging over the holidays to spend some time with my family and have a bit of a rest. But I'll be back in the New Year. So until then have a very Merry Christmas. x
